Little black dress inspiration

There's so much to love about this look from J Mendel Fall 2007; the cinched waist, the feminine ruffles, tights, black-on-black, and patent booties.

Work in the tights, belt and ankle boots to give your exhausted little black dress another run this holiday season.

Flitting around Venice

This longer length is chic and, here, a great transition to fall.

Something's up, she never looks this happy...

Oh, please!

Why why why is the fashion world soiled with things of this nature?

This is Isaac Mizrahi's tranny-Charlie Brown, for Metlife's group show during NY's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (Sept 7, 6pm).

Those finding inspiration in Peanuts characters, of all things? Heatherette, Isaac Mizrahi, Betsey Johnson, Pamella Roland, and Project Runway alum Laura Bennett. That sounds about right.

How much are they getting paid?

Whatever it is, it's too much. I think it's safe to say that Lucy Van Pelt is not a fashion icon and would be very surprised to be stirring inspiration for designers in 2007.

How much is your skull worth?

$100 million at the top, made of diamond, platinum and 18th century human skull. For the Love of God by Damien Hirst.

I like that disco ball skull too! I'm sure it's much more affordable.

It's probably a little more functional too. ha! Wow, I can't stop staring at these. BTW, the diamond skull has all original teeth....

Quickie Fall Report: Phi, Valentino

A couple looks from the Susan Dell-founded/Andreas Melbostad-designed line Phi (which I don't even think you can get in Austin):

I could do without the boots, but the quilting was around in several lines, like this little drop waist skirtie at Valentino:
The quilting ties in with patent very nicely. A good idea for fall!

Stars Strut at Valentino

The way you feel about Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy is the way I feel about Anne Hathaway-- way too composed! The actress without a spunk sports a classic-cut dress and the usual French twist at Valentino. Eva Mendes looks stunning; she's relaxed, classic, sexy, and simple. Best dress/best spunk: Sienna Miller.

Eva has some mess to her. Too perfect = boring. ALTHOUGH...I like Ann and I think she looks great. You can kinda see through her dress which gives it a little edge that's very cool. I am up in the air on Sienna. The jury's still out for me on dresses with feathers. But FOR a dress with feathers, this may be the best I've seen. It's almost a little 90's.

I can't stop looking at Eva M. She looks like she just got laid. On the beach. Hot.

Christian Dior: "60 Colorful Years"

Christian Dior's 60th Anniversary Haute Couture Fashion Show
The Guests: Charlize Theron, Kate Hudson, Eva Green, Jessica Alba, Dita Von Teese
On the Catwalk: Naomi, Linda, Giselle, Amber
My Favorite: Charlize Theron, what a fox.

Very chic stuff, but the one in pink I find I am a little confused by. She looks that way too. I think all the other women look incredible. I especially love that the era of tight clothing has passed. Look how lovely Kate looks in that dress... and Charlize too.
