Introducing customized cufflinks

Eleven Forty Design has engineered a way to produce customized cufflinks. The cufflinks are worn as in the form of an individual profile shot on each sleeve. When these puppies are not busy holding your sleeves together, they come together as a mini-sculpture. Perfect.
I'm interested in getting some made of myslef as a presents. I would wear them too, of course. Can you imagine anything better?
All they need is a picture to make it happen!
OMG Carla. What a find. These are hysterical!

Pattern + Sequins

In: Casually mixing sequins with pattern.
Out: Sequins limited by blacks and neutrals.
Everything is softened by the palette. But I would never wear either of these looks.
I would rock both of these looks in a heartbeat (sans dish washing gloves).
I am all for the mix that Missoni inevitably brings, though, so it's good food for thought (or food for fashion): throw that old sequined scarf on with a soft floral shirt under a grey cardigan.

Extra chocolate and caramel please

The brown shades at Michael Kors really did it for me. I know real life browns rarely look as sexy as they do on the runway, but mixing different shades and overstating the accessories really makes this color pop.

Red-hot entrance

I often think red and black are a little aggressive together, but this dress is nothing but fine, fine, fa-ine. Smooth move, Sedgwick.
Maybe it's the dress. Maybe it's always the look on her face. I don't love this, and I don't know why.
And I am laughing every time I read 'smooth move'... Ex-lax, anyone?

Where was Erebelle?

What a shame that the Austin American-Statesman did an entire article on fitness wear last week and completely skipped over inclusion of new and well-fitting Austin-based line Erebelle.
I just wore my wonderful Erebelle ensemble to the gym today, and I succeeded in feeling put together and kinda hot, even though I am totally out of shape.
Basic Erebelle pant: Flattering on the backside, long enough to look cool, perfect for yoga, washes great, low rise.
My top is a black racer that keeps everything in place but still is nice and long (I hate the ones that just come to my waist.) It's my favorite, a simple cut that looks sexy.
Find it at Girl Next Door and Bettysport.

Why not?
I like this. And I think most guys will agree that sometimes it doesn't get hotter than a denim mini-skirt, especially when worn by a supermodel.
I also love the sharp-edged vest; nice compliment.
No. No, no, no! Why not? Let's see... because it looks trashy? Because the ripped shorty skirt thing is so tired that it fell asleep five years ago?
I know, I know.... I guess I missed the old bat!
However. I do like seeing someone wear something- whatever it is- with confidence.

Addicted to Thandie lately

How is Thandie Newton so pretty all the time? I find that I love her more each time I see her!
She's got a modern Audrey thing going on. Is that wrong to say?
No, I totally agree. Thandie has been turning heads lately for her modern and feminine take on the classics, an approach Audrey knew very well.
I like seeing her out lately, even with the crazy feathered hat-thing below.

Diggin' the plaid
I'm into this plaid little number by J.Crew. It can easily go from day to evening with the right accessories and jacket. Think furs, rustic leathers, bright colored shoes, messy hair, piled on jewels and Risky Business-style Ray Bans for the next morning.
I do like your vision. But this is one I'd buy on impulse, wear once, and never wear again.
I'd be all over it for for work.

Dreaming of Chanel

For years, I've been dreaming of a Chanel suit.
I will buy one. Someday. They're so womanly and elegant and classic, but still retain an edge.
A Chanel suit is the ultimate class act. We may love it for different reasons and that's the beauty of fashion that stays true to itself, yet continues to evolve.
Below, a style from DecadesTwo in LA, where they sell fairly recent new designer stuff. Worth checking out.

Exposed Leggings

Miss Moss is still giving your fave piece a workout, Car. And it works with a lot.
However, wearing leggings without something long on top is mighty questionable. My old rule? If a model can't pull it off....
Excellent rule, but in this case, I object. I say as long as the top falls around hip level, you're safe. Add hooker boots and you're golden.
Plus, unexposed leggings (aka leggings under a dress) are quickly becoming an endangered species in my books.
Yep! I quit on that like a year ago.
So we disagree here on the first issue. I think leggings like this on too skinny - or too big - or at all! - just looks foul. She looks ok here, but I vote a no all around.
I mean, really. Wouldn't you feel so conspicuous in this?
Not if I were Kate Moss. Or Carla Ferguson.

Fall Must Have: Tuxedo Jacket

The tuxedo jacket may be the hottest item on my winter must have list. Both of these styles have a modern twist on the traditional design and nail the sharp and sexy image of a woman in a tuxedo (see below for more info).
NICE find. This one is supafresh.
For a fool-proof look, pair your tuxedo jacket with a traditional white button-down and super dark high-waisted denim.
Feeling edgy? Take notes on Kate Moss:

LOVE the coat
And just like that you're out of the hotseat, Zellweger. You look so cute in this patent coat...so cute in fact that you may have just inspired winter splurges around the globe. The shape, the color? Perfection.
This color makes patent less dressy. Imagine how wrong it would be in black!

Hallow-inspiration

Just to get us all in the spirit, let's take a moment to appreciate how great and stylish the women of Bewitched were.
Endora never deserted her unique flair. And Samantha had a girl-next-door sexiness.
Although, if I may put in my two cents, Darin was way too controlling. I'd ditch any man who wouldn't let me use my witch powers.

My next bag purchase

I'd like these bags if I just saw them. But when I found out that they are all recycled (from leather jackets) and all one of a kind? Love!
Ashley Watson handmakes everything herself. Get one at Fatal Fashion, or look for a retailer on her website. Someone in Austin needs to pick these up, pronto. (Note: Now may be available at Therapy.)
Nice find. These bags are so beautiful and unique and hello, green! Love, love love.
I think the blue bag is a total style-making accessory.
(Above, the "Warbler" in navy, $320; below, the "Brant" in black, $250.)

The power suit
Julianne is rocking the black suit and her bright red updo nicely eh? The fabric, the cut, the accessories- it's modern perfection.
So glad she's back to red. I like this relaxed look.

Because people are so f-ing great

The ladies of Six Six Sick certainly deserve a fashion award for creativity and style.
You've gotta hand it to anyone who can make a dress out of gloves. And still hold down a day job.
Check out the threesome's blog here, and if you're in NYC? Feng-Feng, Christina and Tiffany host a party every Tuesday night at Happy Endings in Manhattan.

Very pretty
I like blondes in yellow.
While you should be careful with the shade, it can certainly be pretty.
Check out this blonde in yellow!

Just beautiful clothing

Alber Elbaz's Spring 08 collection for Lanvin was strikingly lovely.
It was belts and drapes and togas, billowing fabric and fringe and feathers.
This collection is incredible, it is what high-end fashion should be. I love the rich solid colors, especially the purple piece.... I think you would be impressed (or scared) at what I would do for that dress.
And I found the idea of dark lipstick for spring really interesting and daring and maybe a good idea to try out. Screw the rules.
Good take, I like it too.
